Default car shakes and makes noise on highway...

So I got 2 problems which I'm sure is related to each other. I can feel the car shake/vibrate around 55mph and continues to do so as I go faster. I say around 70 is when it gets very noticeable. You can feel this through the steering wheel, gas pedal, your seat, and etc.

The noise seem to come from the rear and it almost sounds like when you drive on a flat tire. Kind of hard to describe that sound but a "thumping" noise except faster?!?!?

I will check the tire pressure but other than that what should I look for before I take it to the shop? BTW, car is basically stock except for 18" volks. Tires and wheels look fine...

Thanks!!!

Sounds like it might be wheel balance issue.

1) Wheel Balance / tire out of round
2) CV Joint worn out

You can easily rule out 1) with a tire inspection and wheel balance. Make sure the tire does not have too much radial runout and the wheel is properly balanced. If that's not it, swap the half-shafts side to side and see if the problem goes away. If it does, it the CV joints are worn.

Sounds like you threw a tire weight. Take it in for a rebalance and have them check your tire pressures as well......
