When I'm driving around 35-40mph I notice my car shakes like crazy. If I look in the rear view mirror, I can see that the car is shaking ... if I put my hand on the seat, I can feel it shaking.
Now I did hit a pothole the other day (FR tire). So I'm figuring its one of three things ...
1. Wheel balance / damaged tire
2. Bent rim
3. Alignment
Any other ideas what this might be? It seems strange to me that at lower/higher speeds the car rides fine.
I'm gonna try to put the spare on the front right tire tomorrow and see if it still shakes ... if it does then I know its probably something on the suspension
...
If anyone has any suggestions / things to try, let me know. I've already checked tire pressure just for the heck of it and made sure all the tires had the recommended pressure and it still shook ...
Thanks for any help you guys can provide!

Yep, sounds like a wheel out of balance, or the feared bent wheel.

Vibrations felt in the steering wheel at a constant speed are usually a front tire balance/bent wheel.
Vibrations from the rear of the car at a constant speed are usually the rear wheels/tires.
Vibration that goes away when you take your foot off the accelerator are from pitted/worn inner CV joints.
Vibration when under braking that can be felt though the pedal and/or the steering wheel are from out of round/non-parallel brake rotors.

Hmm, well ... I definitely feel the vibrations in the steering wheel, but it is VERY noticeable from about 35-40mph, at higher or lower speeds it is not nearly as noticeable ... In fact, I wouldn't notice it at all unless I were looking for it at other speeds.
I feel it regardless of whether I'm on or off the throttle, or on or off the brakes ... but sometimes I can feel the vibration through the gas or brake pedal.
The vibration seems like its the entire car though, when I look in the rear view mirror I can see the mirror shaking, and when I put my hand on the seat I can feel the car shaking. Not sure if that indicates anything other than how bad the shaking is

I'm gonna try switching to the spare on the FR tire that I think is bad (because of the pothole) and if it goes away I guess I'll try to get the tire balanced. Hopefully thats the only problem cuz that'd be a nice and cheap fix

Doh, put the tire on a balancer today and the front right tire was off balance, but the rear right rim is bent too! Gotta buy a new rim most likely

yea...wheel not balance or bent makes the steering wheel shake, but the s2k chassis is so light and stiff, I wouldn't be surprised if the shake transfer thru the body of the car.
