Car runs better after ECU reset?
After suffering from intermittent sluggish performance and testing things like my tps and iacv, I reset my ECU and my car seems to run perfect.
Can someone explain why something as simple as this made my car run better? It used to jerk while putting my foot on the gas and when taking it off and now it doesn't do it.

about anything, anyone can guess... would be, you maybe actually straighten something out during all your testing.. a loose connection.. might be worth rechecking.. however.. run it an see how it goes...
not all too difficult to explain.. prior to whatever fixed whatever.. whatever, wasn't working correctly.. ( i can just see this getting only worse )
I chased a code and wiring an connectors for a few days, all my measurements were fine.. i reset.. no cell codes.. maybe I found whatever it was and made a better connection outta whatever I had.. so.. I, can relate...

OP, you're not imagining things. The ECM adapts to recent driving conditions/styles, and the AP1 ECM in particular can sometimes go a little too far in the search for efficiency. A reset puts it in a fairly robust, fuel-rich mode, a new starting point from which to optimize. Early owners who tracked the car used to routinely reset the ECM before the first session of the day...the idea was to help it "forget" the long dull highway drive to the track, and get it ready to optimize itself for hard running.
