Default Car running like crap!

My CEL came on yesterday morning while on my way to work. It has been having issues for a few weeks now with bogging under load until you reach the powerband where it would be fine. It did not have CEL until now. When I got off work I went to go get the code scanned and the CEL started to blink and the car could not hold a normal idle. It is running super rich, it lights on fire a little from the exhaust pipe with a Bic. When the engine is reved it sounds like a 2 stroke. I pulled the plugs and they are white (unclean burn). Replaced with Bosch Platinum +2 as it was all I could get at 10 pm. It still blinks the CEL and won't run worth a damn. I just left it infront of a shop and got a ride home. I didn't get the code since everyone with a OBD scanner was gone by the time I got there. I was thinking it was bad fuel for a while and had just dumpped in some BG44k with new gas that morning. Now I'm not sure what it wrong. Timing? ECU? Fuel Pump/Filter? Coil Packs? Any suggestions would be great.

Are the spark plugs tight? Swap coil packs with someone. Do u have a stock cat? Cat might be plugged up.

Plugs are tight. It runs the same with brand new plugs as it did with the old ones. I'm running test pipe right now.

I will as soon as I get them. No one was open last night, and I work this morning. Luckily I was around a shop so I just left it in their lot and perhaps they will be kind enough to scan it for me this afternoon.

I was under the impression that a BLINKING cel means stop driving the car immediately.

Thought it was the other way around, if it's steady on it's bad

no blinking CEL is bad!!! steady on means something needs to be checked up or scan for code to find out why its on!!! NEVER DRIVE ANY CAR IF THE CEL IS BLINKING!!! check that one section that says THE ULTIMATE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THREAD on UNDER THE HOOD forum

I'm pretty sure blinking is the "seriously stop driving and get it looked at" light. I will post up a video of the running like crap and the code(s) when I get off work.
