Ahh I'm up north, I could have done a compression test for you if you were local.
I'd have a bash at HG change possibly if you have the time.
New TCT, HG, Oil, Coolant, etc. Save yourself the labour.

Ahh I meant you could try if you have the confidence to do it.
I'm no mechanic but I've build a few B series engines and have some good experience/tools and I would attempt it on my own engine if needed.
Looking through the manual it doesn't seem such a hard job, you don't even have to remove the timing chain/crank pulley/chain guides etc. £400 isn't too bad for main dealer, try and push them down a bit or get discount on parts
Also, you don't have to change the TCT if yours is fine (don't let Honda charge you for one if its fine). They should wind a bolt/nut into the back of the TCT releasing the tension so it can be removed/refitted without issues.
Message 'Garage R' on the UK community, he runs a garage in Barnsley and has good S2000 experience. He might be able to give you a better quote than Honda.
