Default Car not starting after removing FMU

Hostory:

Car is an 01 turboed with VAFC hack running FMU and Vortech Blk box. Last weekend i pulled the VAFC and black box out and installed AEM EMS 1012. Needing to order injector clips, i stopped there.

The car started just fine. I even drove around in non-boost conditions.

Today

Since the injector clips are arriving tomorrow i thought i would get a head start on removing the FMU. (ems is already installed)

I yanked the fuel pump fuse from under the dash.. Started the car, the car ran for a few seconds and then died. I turned the car over some more just to make sure most of the fuel was out of the system.

Then i removed the FMU from the car (some gas still spilled out) and returned the return line back to the FPR.

I popped the fuse back in, and attempted to start the car. Immediately i noticed that the fuel pump did not prime. So i looked over to the laptop that is running AEMPro and it says the ECU is offline. WTF!!!

double checked everything, fuse is ok. No other fuses appear to be blow. Battery is charged.

Tried to start the car again... at this point i noticed that while i am trying to start the car, AEMPro says that the ECU is online (after i stop cranking the car, it goes back to offline). So it appears that when i press the start button to start the car, the ECU and my laptop is pairing.

I let the starter kill on my alarm take over, i attempt to start the car again... the engine does not turn over because of the starter kill, but i hear the fuel pump priming. Also the EMS/ECU shows that its online. If i hold the start button down, it AEMPro downloads from the ECU.

It almost appears that the ignition is in the wrong position... in run it is accessory... and start is it in run...

WTF! Any ideas???

Just off the top of my head, it sounds like the ECU's only getting power when the starter button's pressed. The ECU should be getting power 100% of the time shouldn't it?

B21 goes through 2 fuses to the battery and's supposed to have power 100% of the time.

A24 goes to the starter switch and only has power when the starter button's pressed.

B1 and B9 should have 12 volts when the key's turned on.

I'd probably turn the key on and see if you have battery voltage at B21, B1 and B9.
