Car moves when in neutral and shifts grind

Well, car's back and shifting fine. Turns out that the borrower decided to change the transmission fluid on his own. Apparently there was a leak after he put everything back together; the transmission fluid gradually dribbled away until shifts started grinding. I didn't think to ask, but I'd bet $10 that he didn't bother replacing the crush washer when he changed the fluid. Replacing the fluid (and the washer) fixed the problem.
I have no idea what caused the creeping in neutral, but since I haven't seen it since I got the car back, I'm going to follow alexf20c's advice, grit my teeth, and try my damnedest not to think about it.

Don't most motorcycles use wet clutches? If so, I can see where there would be a bit of the fluid "lockup" that is the principal behind torque converters in auto trannies. Beyond a certain velocity and waveshape, the fluid becomes very close to being a solid in its performance. (simplistic terms - please no ME's squawking at a brother's layman terminology).

Neutral creep is a transmission problem. Creep with the clutch on the floor while in gear is a clutch problem.
I would say drive it till it breaks. I once had my tranny rebuilt (in a VW Bug to put in different gear ratios) and the shop forgot to put oil in the tranny. I drove it for about 5 miles at highway speeds, exited the Interstate, and had a heck of a time getting it out of gear. Once I figured out it had no lube, I filled it up and drove it gently for a few miles. After that it was fine and I'm sure I put 75k to 100k miles on it.
