But, it has been good entertainment this morning reading this thread. I love the way the mechanic's diagnostic mind works.
Lol glad to be of service. I have bent over backwards diagnosing this. Now I should name the thread (car starts then shuts down a few seconds later).

Oh! I'm looking for a suitable crimp terminal since the cable itself is a thick boi! Not going to power the car back up until I get that burned cable sorted. I sawed off the terminal last night. The rest of the wire behind the burned terminal looks healthy. I'll try to get a proper crimp terminal today.

Clearer shot of the stuck open plunger from an '02 AP1. Perhaps it was shocked by my AEM early crossover so it got overwhelmed and also realized it wasn't on the east coast any more... LOL

Car DOES NOT idle in VTEC! Just wanted to point that out
Put my original solenoid back in and she's all good to go! Hopefully it doesn't get stuck open, ever!

In case anyone was wondering, the VTEC solenoid is made by "Keihin Corporation" in Japan. They made our injectors, fuel pressure regulator and ECU.

How the heck did the VTEC get stuck? Steel shaft wore out the aluminum pivot points? Never heard of this happening in any Honda.
