I have a 2001 s2000 70k on motor

car every 3-4k miles when i go to do my oil change my car is 2-2 1/2Q low on oil. I have some oil leaks but not big just a very little near the vtec solenoid gasket and valve cover and none under the car the leaks are very small. I checked compression and they all read 200. i am going to fix the leaks and see if those are the problem but they aren't big enough to be missing 2 Q of oil every 3-4k miles.

not sure what to do next besides fix the leaks. wondering if anyone might no something i don't.

AP1's are known to burn a little oil - the harder you drive the more you will burn.

You shouldnt have leaks though? Are there drops of oil under the car when you pull out?


Check your oil every fill up, and top off as necessary.

Less than 2qts per 3k miles can be "normal" for an ap1, especially an early ap1. You have a later ap1 and it shouldn't be using that much oil. Fix the visable leaks and see what your oil usage becomes.

ok thanks thats all i needed to know i do drive it hard at times. oil leaks dont leave drops of oil under the car but are visible so i am going to fix those this weekend
