Default Car idles weird after oil change

I've just had the oil changed and my car feels like its going die when i come to a full stop in neutral with my foot on the brakes. There was also a burning smell after the oil change but it went away after too. Any suggestions?

Check the level...chances are there is too much oil in there. Too much oil is not good.

For sure keep an eye on oil levels could be too much oil, the burning smell could have very easily just been some spilled oil burning off and nothing major.

Check the oil filter also and that it is on tight.

It may just be your car is trying to adapt to new warmer weather. The ECU is always learning and when atmospheric conditions change, it takes some time to relearn. The problem many people get into is when the idle is dipping, they give it some gas to try to "help" it. What this tends to do is confuse the ECU. I have experienced the dipping idle and if you just leave it alone and don't tough the throttle, it straightens itself out. That's been my experience anyway and it also appears to be the standard advice given around here on this forum.

sounds exactly like what's going on. changing your oil was just a coincidence.

Also, summer gas is replacing winter gas at most stations now. ECU is adapting to the weather and gas changing at this time of the year.

back from the dead. I think there may be some connection between the oil change and the ECU letting the idle dip. I have no idea what it may be, but this exact thing happened to me today. The weather has not changed. I did an oil change and immediately after I saw the idle dip. I can't imagine this is coincidence since it was not happening right before the oil change. I drove the car into the driveway and proceeded to change the oil within 10 minutes.. yes I burned myself once
