Hello all,

I recently purchased a 02 s2000 with 90k miles, my first manual car. I am getting comfortable with it; however today when I started off at a traffic light it started hopping/jumping 3 or 4 times even as I kept constant gas pressed before it smoothed out. I am not sure if it was me letting the clutch out too slow/fast, or if something is wrong with my car.

It probably was the heat bogged

Use a little more gas and clutch slippage out of 1st gear. Try 3 grand.

I did the same thing when i was learning to drive. The s was the first manual car ive owned, i think i was thinking that the clutch was all the way out so i took my foot off causes it to hop. So maybe try letting it out smoothly until the clutch pedal is all the way out.
