Car growls loud when I let off the gas - help!
When I am driving along regardless of what gear I'm in (6 speed) - when I let off the gas, the car growls loud at me. Its almost unbearable with the top up.
I had my buddy take it to the tire shop that he works at and put it up on a lift, he said he did not notice the noise with the car on the lift and he couldn't find anything 'loose' under the car.
It sounds like a bad vibration or like the transmission (or muffler or engine) is loose...
I only notice it when I let off the gas after accelerating.
Do you have ANY ideas what it might be? My local Honda dealership wants $80 just to look at it. Should I post a video/audio clip? Thanks in advance!
2001 Honda S2000 6 speed manual 80,000 miles. Recent Mobil 1 oil change, KN air filter, never raced (that I know of), no other aftermarket parts...

defiently clutch buzz. mine does it too. all it is is the springs in the clutch vibrating. theres nothing wrong with them, just a design flaw that wont hurt a thing.

Wow - thanks everyone for all of your replies - I really appreciate it.
What a relief to know its normal but my goodness. I never in a million years expected this from a Japanese vehicle. The noise makes my car sound like an old Chevy or Saturn Sky... How could Honda do that!
