Default Car feels like its been running like crap lately.

hey guys,

i got a MY 00 with just an injen cai. I got 70,000 miles on the motor. lately the car just feels like a dog. i just changed the oil about 2 weeks ago and thats about it. I just dont see the acceleration or bit of power that used to be there. Between shifts i feel a lack of power like its lagging. My friend says its probably my sparkplugs. Hes guaranteeing me if i change the sparkplugs and sparkplug wires ill see a difference. Well, if thats the case then also what do u guys recommend for sparkplugs and sparkplug wires. thanks

S2k has no spark plug wires...
Even if you change your plugs, that's not your problem
Bring me my clutch tool and I'll take it for a spin...you gonna be around Saturday???

Take him up on his "guarantee". What's he offering if he's WRONG about the plug wires?

Well, obviously there are wires running to the spark plugs. I mean, they get power from somewhere, right? Those insulated flexible thingies running to the ignition coils sure looked like wires.

However, the ignition coils are directly connected to the spark plugs.

you know this is the same problem and way i felt about my car and i myself posted threads about this issue as well as many ppl in the past month and i have noticed it is a VERY common issue taht we are all having. I have a feeling it may just be us gettin used to teh car or atlesat i hope so and i am tryin to say that to make me feel better cuz no one has found the solution to this problem including myself. The other day i took off the cover to the filter and it felt a LOT better as if it was running the way it was when i bought the car but a bit quicker. I dono if it actually helped and it is because of just taking the cover off. All i know is that the car is loud, VERY LOUD and beautiful as well as the VTEC noise. It does seem a lot better adn quicker as i said before but i was wondering if this is a bad thing for the motor? i just took the cover off the black one iwht the latches.

I dont think it can do any damage but I don't see how you would get an increase in performance. While more air will be surrounding the intake filter it will be hot air. With heat soke there should be a decrease in performance. I've seen a dyno chart to proove this too.
