Default Car feels a bit sluggish suggestions

Whats up everyone, car is an 03 AP1. I've been noticing that below 5k my car doesn't have any punch when I give it some throttle. I know the S2000 isn't a torque monster by any means, but it feels as if my motor is being "held" back. It now has 110k, just changed oil/trans fluid. Car is stock besides weapon R intake and muffler delete (purchased like this) Any suggestions will help thanks

weather conditions hot ? most sluggishness is heat soak related and coupled with a short ram intake could cause the issue. an over-rich air-fuel ratio can also cause sluggishness

Weather is cool, around 50 degrees lately. Definitely will be swapping my current intake for a better one like the FIPK. Could an evap leak be the issue? I had an evap canister code about 2 months ago that randomly came up, cleared the code and it hasn't came back on since.

You could always try resetting the ECU via battery disconnect and see if there is any difference?

Billman's TCT made my car feel more peppy and healthy. I'm thinking the crank/cam timing and response was improved by it.

Curious... how does a battery make the car feel more peppy in low rpm?

I'm on an old battery; but it still works and starts fine... maybe I should change it?

Battery is not the cause, guaranteed.
