I'd be at the dealer asking for a refund for that battery. Get a Digital Multimeter, learn how to use it, and get to work.

[QUOTE=pantyraider,Jan 20 2006, 06:19 PM] Hmm...I don't think the battery light came on. The head lights did stay on, but I turned it off once the EPS and everything started acting haywire.

dude, try and find someone competent to do a diode ripple test. these alternators do go bad. ive had 3 go bad now, my own and 2 local kids. honda's tester said they were OK. yet my VW tester, and the snapon one said the alt was toast. this is my guess since your battery was so short lived. also check all the grounds and clean them well. does your gauge cluster flicker? classic symptom of toasted alt. any Q's ask away. lates dave

I'd imagine in all those cases the battery light on the dash would turn on or at least flicker when the engine was running? I've seen an alternator gone bad. The battery light (or charging light) on the dash would turn on or flicker.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I found out what it was. There were some exposed wires that I didnt' notice at first (leading to the secondary injection control I think) in the engine bay that were shorting the alternator fuse out.

The fuse box I was checking was the one in the engine bay. I didn't know that the ACG fuse under the driver's side dash was a second alternator fuse. Anyway, after 2 blown fuses, the car seems to run ok now.

Now, I just have to figure out why my top won't go up.

So, the alternator is good. I didn't think it would go so soon. It's still a Honda.

Thanks for all the help guys
