Wheel hop=something is going to get broken
Something broken=abuse

Be nice to your car. Go with legal bill and xviper and if that doesn't work go see the dealer. Just let him know that the car hops when you mash the gas off the line. Leave out the dumped clutch part.

You may want to look and see if Honda remembered to remove a rubber spacer they place between the springs during transport from the factory. They forgot to remove one from mine and, until the mechanic who discovered it removed it, I had similar launch issues.

Wheel Hop
An undesirable suspension characteristic in which a wheel (or several) moves up and down so violently that it actually leaves the ground. Wheel hop can be caused by many problems, including excessive unsprung weight, insufficient shock damping, or poor torsional axle control.

I've always refered to it as axle tramp.

That noise is more than likely the LSD locking, unlocking, locking.. I suggest not making it a habit. The S2000 wasn't designed to be driven like that. It's not a 1/4 mile car.

Depends on how many.
A couple .................... CLUNK ........... CLUNK ......... CLUNK.
A lot ................. If you've parked it with the missing teeth matching the other gear, you'll just sit there next time you try to move.

we don't have a locker style differential, we have a torsen limited slip. the gears push against the mechanical resistance of the the spinning tire to put more of the torque to the tire that hasn't lost grip with the road
