Is it even possible for the crank pulley/crank trigger wheel to separate and move out of time if you were cranking on it with hand tools to remove the pulley's bolt??
Is it possible for timing to go out as the miles pass by?

All cam timing issues are mechanic induced.

Timing changes with mileage have 0 affect on the car.

So my crank pulley being off center with the arrow on the timing chain cover by a bit despite the cams and cam gear being spot on is natural after 130k miles/21 years?

It was fine as is for a while. I swapped retainers to AP2, new OEM valve stem seals, ACT/OEM combo clutch, and new upgraded oil jet banjo bolts installed a few months ago. Car went well ever since then. Tuned on AEM Series 2, NA stock engine with exhaust bolt ons. Last Saturday while driving it suddenly started misfiring badly and hesitating between 1 to 3k rpm. It never switched off but made sputtering noises several times when I was on light throttle. When I gave it more throttle it pulled smoothly from 4k up to about 6k where I tapped off. I looked under the hood and nothing came loose so I limped home like that. Now the car won't start. It just about starts then sputters and switches off. Battery almost drained at this point. Could timing have gone bad and done this?? AEM reported a timing error for a while. VTEC solenoid screen is super clean. Oil changed recently and always topped off. Coil packs are new AP2 Denso 673-2301.

Don't have a tester. I can get one though. I am wondering if the valves tightened up too much causing bad compression on multiple cylinders. I will get in there to check and confirm

P.S. Based on others' experiences a bad FPR can cause this issue too. Maybe mine is K.O.
