The genetic makeup causes the molecular structure to change the co efficient of friction, which in turn affects the compound and ultimately the heat range in which the brake pad functions. The different genetic makeups also affect the chemical balance, thus causing reactions that are unknown at this this time. The DNA of the samples is modified to match the characteristics of the altered chemicals which sets the bias in sync with the medium.
This is why some pads cause grooves and some don't
