Cannot remove silencer
Hello,
one of my silencer inserts got stuck inside the muffler. Cannot figure out how can I remove it myself. Please advise...
Probably I can just got some mechanical shop and ask them, but I hope should be another way of doing it myself.
Thanks
-Paul

you have a skunk2 exhaust?
well the silencers that came with them are a really REALLY snug fit, and for me (also owning a skunk2 exhaust) i use pliers, or something to really get a grip of the inside piping, and just give it a good yank. and wiggling it back and fourth a little too..

Yep, Skunk2 Megapower dual...
The left silencer came out pretty easy with pliers, but the other side sits tight. I probably will go drive around 10-15 minutes to warm up the mufflers so metal is more flexible and try again with pliers...
If no luck I guess I need to bring it to the shop

i had the same issue with my greddy single. if your silencer is setup the same way (6-8 inch tube going inside of the muffler) you can use a hammer or other large round handle to stick inside of the silencer, and wiggle the tube in the muffler. this should get you enough wiggle room to pull it out. good luck!

Try some penetrating oil, lightly tap the silencer with a open end wrench to distribute the oil, then try working it loose by sticking a small pipe into the silencer and working it back and forth.
Off topic but what's the story behind your avatar? I'd like more info about the artist and that illustration in particular.

^^^ i remember that movie lol pretty good actually.... but yea see if you have a tool or something that fits through the silencer and has something on the end that you can use to pull against the back of the silencer. that bastard shouldnt be TOO terribly tricky to get out with a lil innovation ha

Thanks for the avatar info Freek, hope you got your silencer out.
Speaking of silencers, interesting how assassin flicks are always intriguing. I've been a fan way back to films like The Mechanic and of course The Professional, right up through In The Line of Fire. Gear heads appreciate skill and precision.
