Can you change your own fluids and still be warrat
I have a extended warranty. Can I change my own fluids and still have the coverage or does the dealer need to do it.
My reciepts would be proof of the fluid changes but dont know how that would hold up if I ever had a issue with the engine, tranny or diff.

Honda has a site where you can input all your at home services. Still keep your receipts, but the site will help give you a consolidated list of your maintence records.
http://www.ahm-ownerlink.com
As long as you use quality products (OEM would be best), it doesn't matter who performs the maintence (if done correctly) if a warrenty issue arises.

You don't need to keep receipts to prove that you did all the maintenances by yourself or at independent shops. Honda have to prove that the failing parts are the result of neglect maintenances to decline warranty services. By keeping receipts is not a bad idea either.

It may not be required to keep all receipts, but a prudent person would do so to provide additional evidence that maintenance was performed according to schedule. I do all of my own maintenance and keep a careful log (Excel spreadsheet) of my work along with all receipts. This also provides a nice record to give to future owners if you ever sell the car.

Here's a quick and dirty test to figure out this type of question (in the U.S.A.):
Does the Manufacturer provide free periodic maintenance (i.e. oil changes) for the life of the warranty (BMW, for example)?
If YES - it has to be done by a factory approved/authorized facility (dealership).
If NO - as stated by TR-S2K, the factory has to prove that lack of maintenance or faulty maintenance was the cause of the failure(s) in question.
However Coral Doc hit it right on the nose: you'd be a fool not to keep good records - regardless of the 'requirements'.
