Just to stir things up a bit have you tried the Amsoil MTF yet?
Not yet. Trying to decide what oil I should get for my next change though. I'm basically looking for smoother shifts and the Honda MTF isn't cutting it imo.

Can you use the MT-90 in both the trans and the diff? Or just MTL?

Mixing them 50/50 has been recommended to me.
That person must be completely stupid!

(because I know who it is )

But you were linking the rough shifts to trans&oil temp.

Rough shifting can IMO also be caused by a mechanical issue.
A sticky clutch disk caused by rusty or dirty input shaft splines to be exact.
If the disk can't move about a bit on its own when the PP is pulled away from the FW, it will continue to transfer some torque into the trans, it will only break loose from the FW at the moment you actually shift into the next gear, when the synchro changes the revs of the input shaft, but by then it allready feels as notchy or rough.

After I installed the clutch myself and made sure those splines were clean and had the right grease on them, both on the input shaft and on the disk, shifting has never been so smooth at higher revs.

That said, the S2k trans seems to shift best at higher revs.
Toddling around town at low speeds & revs, shifting up still feels notchy, especially if I shift too fast.
The mechanical feel through the metal shift rods, the synchro doing its job can feel notchy at low revs.
Its the nature of the thing.
Low rev shift = slow shift.
The more revs the faster it can take it.

This trans was made to shift perfectly at redline, and it does!, but at the cost IMO of a little rough shifting at 3k rpm.

Part of it is I'm being hyper aware of my shift smoothness right now because I feel something isn't "quite" right. The other part of it is, afaik, the friction modifiers are in the oil to add friction to the oil and make it feel smoother, which may be what I'm missing since I went away from GMSFM. I don't know what exactly a friction modifier is, but i like the way it feels, if that makes sense, and I'm open to trying different oils to see what works best. I'm not at the point of tearing apart the clutch since the car for all intent shifts fine, I'm just nitpicking.
