Thanks for all the help everyone. This has opened my eyes quite a bit thus far. I have a lot to learn yet...

What kind of time and headaches would go into installing and setting up a Greddy E-Manage system? It looks like I can buy an entire kit for $500 or less....

If this isn't the right solution, it sounds like the AEM system is my only logical choice even though it is a big hit to the bank right off the bat.

The wiring for the E-manage is pretty straight forward. All of the correct diagrams and hardware settings can be found on previous threads. A www.vtecfrog.com jumper harness makes the wiring much easier, as an added bonus you don't cut the stock harness. To take advantage of the E-manage you need a few more pieces, such a injectors and a adjustable FPR. You will still need to take the car to a qualified tuner for initial setup. It may require additional street tuning.

There's no reason why you can't use just the E-manage with the Comptech kit. If you keep the Comptech FPR then you'll still have some duty cycle to play with in the stock injectors and you can control ignition.

Of course the idea of a better engine management system is really to replace the red neck system used by the Comptech, and that's where a more conventional FPR and bigger injectors come in.

Ok, so adding injectors, FPR, and the harness...we're talking close to a grand or more right?

If I were to buy the AEM EMS, I would not have to buy anything else correct? Just the time to have someone tune it...

AEM EMS will also require the injectors, and FPR. It's also advisable to add the AEM wideband. It's pretty easy to get $1000-1800 in engine management bits. The real expense is tuning.

I think Slow is getting carried away. The OEM kit should be fine. If you want to tune a bit for safety or a bit of extra power then I'm personally against the V-AFC (for the reasons above).

So I suggest E-manage as a minimum. You don't necessarily need injecotrs and replacement FPRs but they are great future additions. I wouldn't bother with the AEM if you're not going to go all the way with injectors, FPR etc.

Sounds to me lke the E-manage will do what you want and will give you plenty of items for your future wish list.

BTW, don't spend too much on the Support Tool (software and cable) for the E-manage. Join the Yahoo E-manage list and locate one of the aftermarket versions. Cheaper and better.
