Can I mix oil viscosity?
I bought my new S2000 from a dealership and before they sold it to me, they did an oil change but Idk what kind of oil they used. (100% sure its not synthetic since they put that sticker on saying to change it in the next 3,000 miles.) Since my AP1 is burning oil, I don't know what type of oil to use. I was just going to use 10w30, but I didn't know if mixing them would cause problems. I would just do an oil change but if the filter is less than 600 miles old, why bother.

You can mix all you want, I mix oil for my S and my bikes. It's an urban myth, what do you think a blended oil is? It's both mixed together but most if not all oil companies won't tell you the % of each. Most are not blended in a 50/50 mix. But if you mix it, you know what the % of the mix is.

Air on them putting in the proper viscosity of 10/30 and just top it off with this. The likely alternative which may have been used if they didn't bother to look at the oil cap or manual, is 5/30. At either rate, your only mixing the cold viscosity, its not going to be a problem. Running either one is fine in this car.

Summer i run 10w30 and fall/winters i run 5w30 or 0w30 for better start ups during cold temps. You can run whatever you want. My s used to burn a lot a oil then i went to Pennzoil platinum and i dont burn about 1 quart in 1500 2000 miles.
