it would have to be a pretty small one to fit in there, im thinking my glass piece and sack would find a good home in there.

I'd think if you remove it and put the armrest back, the armrest may sag down after resting your elbow on it.

Are you going to actually build a new storage bin?

you are correct and yes.

I was actually thinking about this an hour ago and came up with a way to reinforce the arm rest pad. While I have the arm rest off I will be wrapping it in different leather/different design and a stitch pattern.

I plan on making a storage bin for it too.

Keep us updated. I'm very interested in doing somethin like this once I get my s2k.

I might have a few things to hide =P I could see putting some kind of foam in there to, to fit your piece perfectly, no chance of it rolling around and breaking. That'd be bad ass.

yeah u should find a plastic holder or something u can fit in there before u do any cutting, that way it will fit perfectly. i think thats what im going to do and on the under side of the arm rest cover u can reinforce it with something thin and sturdy.
