This weekend I installed AP2 retainers on my intake valves. When I went to install the camshafts I guess I hadn't seated everything down far enough before starting the torque sequence - I was at 10 ft lbs when I heard this crack.

It is cap #3.


Anyone have any thoughts on possible solutions?

Look for a set of cam towers in the FS forum.

I had a set years ago and sold them. The only way to get them new from Honda is with a cylinder head assembly.

Yes, to elaborate on what Slow said, you need a full set, tops and bottoms. They are a matched set and cannot be swapped out piece by piece. Sucky way to learn, but it happens.
