Default Calling all Solo Bleeder users

About to purchase a set of Solo Bleeders (Earl's). Just wanted to hear from members that installed them and what impressions you have.

Anyone experience any problems?
Do they work as advertised?

I will be getting my set from Rick's ($18)

Thanks!

I had them on my MY 2000 car and they worked as advertised. I liked them better than the Speedbleeders that they replaced. After a couple years of use, the Speedbleeders started leaking around the threads and I was concerned that air was getting into the system while bleeding. Just be careful not to over-torque the Solo Bleeders as they are a little more fragile than the OEM bleeders.

They work well. I have used them for several years now and IMO it is the only way to equip a car for track use.. a bleed is a quick one person operation.

I used speedbleeders prior to getting the solobleeders. They work well also but rely on a thread sealant that deteriorates with many cycles, so after a few years of use and many bleeds they can allow air to be pulled back in.

For street only use where a bleed is done only once a year or so either design works great.

One caution is use very low torque when tightening these fittings, especially the solo bleeders. There is no reason for more than finger tight and they can be damaged by cranking them hard.

The vote of confidence is appreciated.

Where did everyone get theirs?

The bleeders sold by Rick's are they the Earl's type? His site doesn't really make that clear.

Hey Simon, Did you ever get an answer on where a good place to purchase Earl's solo bleeders? I am looking for a vendor that has these and ATE super blue fluid. Any help would be appreciated.

I noticed ricks too but the price seems low for what I have seen Earl's going for elsewhere. I would like to get everything from Ricks if possible and support the vendor.

I did a search and found the size (10 x 1.25 ), please verify this is the correct one.

10 x 1.25 mm is correct. I got them from Ricks, and the ATE from the Marketplace.
