CAI
Want to get a CAI. Is there any performance or other considerations when considering a CAI. Like the Spoon CF and the AEM V2 or Weapon R. Any thoughts here...?

There is so little difference in performance between one CAI and another that it really just comes down to price, looks, and sound. Only you can decide which fits those 3 criteria best.

BTW, I have an AEM V1, and am very happy with it. It is among the cheapest CAIs out there, and it looks okay. However, some people say it sounds "raw" or "unrefined".

I have (and like very much) the Comptech CAI. The positives of this intake have been discussed ad nauseaum on this board, but here's a short summary:
1. true cold-air setup
2. no chance in hell of pulling in water (unless you have one of those "amphibious" S2000's )
3. looks and sounds badass on the car
4. not nearly as insanely expensive as the J's or Mugen (both of which also satisfy the above)
5. does not require cutting the car
6. dyno proven gains (see Comptech's website)
7. readily available stock with one call away tech support.
People will bitch and moan about it not fitting correctly, but I have had mine since about April, and it fits like a glove. Just take your time when installing, and you'll be fine. Hope this helps in the decision

The snorkels give dubious gains at best. I know - I had one. The only reason some JDM companies designed them that way was because AEM-style ones were not permitted in the spec racing series over there.
Anything like the AEM will provide measurable gains. Plus the AEMs are CARB certified (I got my car smogged last week with it on).

if you live ANYWHERE near roads that flood...STAY AWAY FROM THE AEM.
The AEM is probably the best overall, with the most gains (average around 5 vs Comptech around 3) BUT you do have a real risk of hydrolock. Ask yourself if 5hp (at best) is worth blowing your engine.
