This past week, I've been getting a LOT of water spilling out of my A/C onto the passenger floor. When I accellerate or turn left, I hear sizzling noises. My warranty is expired, so I would like to fix it myself. Does anyone know what is envolved with checking the drain hose?

This happened to me on my 94 Prelude and water was dripping onto the passenger side floorboard, I found out that the drain hose at the bottom of the evaporator had been clogged by leaves and various other gunk. The best thing to do if this is the problem is blow compressed air at very low air pressure from the A/C unit under the dash until it blows all the crap out from the drain hose, or from the outside under the car insert a wire with small hook and pull anything that may be blocking the drain hose...

Just one other quick check, make sure the hose is actually connected! I managed to knock mine off when my legs were outstrectched in the passenger seat and then proceeded to drive about 1000km with the a/c on full, as you can imagine it got quite damp.

I'm not too sure on the location in LHD vehicles but on RHD cars the resevoir is pretty much up against the firewall hanging from the "roof" of the footwell, the drain pipe should come out of the firewall and connect to the resevoir.
Sorry for the shoddy description, i'll try take a photo.

I fixed it. There is a hose coming out of the very bottom of the blower box inside the cabin that was all twisted up. I guess my passengers have been sticking their feet up where they don't belong. I made the mistake of disconnecting the hose inside the car, which allowed a TON of water to spill onto the floor.
I wish I wouldn't have waited so long to fix it, since my blower motor actually quit working on Friday. I had to remove the motor and screw around with it for a while to get it dried out enough to work again. It seems to be working fine now, but it may have some long term damage.
