Do you think the expansion valve is salvageable if cleaned?...I know aftermarket are cheap, but hey, if we can save her for another day, that would be great.

 

I wouldn't chance it, I'm usually pretty gung ho on oem used parts but I don't know enough about expansion valves to say if they can be reused. Since they're cheap i just default get a new one along with the drier, whenever I do AC work.
