Default Bypassing the air pump CEL--any resistor?

I'm not using the air pump. Is there anyway I can bypass
the air pump CEL code?

Is there a resistor I can attach to the air pump wires?

Thanks

The only way you can bypass the CEL is with stand alone engine management system. Not even a piggy back can get rid of it.

Sorry bro.

you can't. the ecu senses voltage from the pump to ensure it is turning and it reads the post-cat 02 to ensure the pump is actually pumping. if you can find a way to simulate a voltage signal and air pumping through the cat without using an air pump... get my drift. you would be biulding the exact same setup to replace the stock one.

resistor at the air pump plug

ECU check of voltage and current at air pump :check

Now for the interesting part (surprised no one has thought of this yet)

For the O2 check get your self a 5 pin relay.

On the relay the normally closed contacts fee the O2voltage to the stock computer.

Tag the coils on the Relay so when the ECU triggers the air pump to turn on the relay switches and the Stock ECU see a lean A/F voltage.

The switched contacts will need to be feed with a very close to 0 volt source.

You feed the Stock Computer 0volts it will most likely give a cell but if you can get something like .1V then no Cell.

I have been thinking about this for a while now LOL

or pass obd2 inspection, which I assume is the entire purpose of trying to trick the factory computer, so that the car is still "compliant'

**edit**

ive just realized that based on the the OPs user name he's probably swapped the engine into his 7, so I guess he just wants the CEL out and isn't exactly worried about obd2, lol

Is there a series code to know if the ecu is JDM?

Try it out on your car, but You'll still have the DTC.

You won't get past the 2nd system self check

it will still activate the relay during the second check thus letting the stock computer see the lean condition that is created when the air pump normally turns on.

The only time the relay activates to send the stock computer the .1V is when it turns on the air pump.
