If you check when cold the oil level will be lower than normal so can over fill that way.

Mobil 1 tends to burn quickly.
I switched over to AMSOIL 5w-40 and got a lot less of burning oil
A quart maybe ever 1k miles.

i noticed u didnt say anything about smoking. does it smoke at all during driving? during start up after its been sitting a while? also im assuming u only did a dry comp test and not a wet one...do a wet comp test as compare the results to the dry one...also how many miles?

everyone does a comp test first...but if u do a leak down test first its kinda like killing 2 birds with 1 stone...do a leak down test FIRST and go from there....

i drive mine hard and burn about a half quart between changes, every 3000 miles without fail. I use Castrol GTX(non synthetic) that is alot more than i have hearf of others burning. Any smoke at all ?? That would be an indicator, if you have smoke what color?

70k miles now and no smoke at start up or when driving. Unless im shifting at 9k then there will be a poof of black smoke.
