Burning smell in the cabin/under the hood?

Question, was your res ever full before? I understand that you have coolant in the radiator. Check to see where coolant in the res goes. If your level dip then you have a (slow) leak somewhere and it's possible. Dont rule anything out if you want to fix the problem mate

The weather has been pretty shitty here lately, but I got to check the car out yesterday. It would appear as if my vtec solenoid is leaking oil. I'm just going to replace the gasket and hopefully that will fix it. I don't see any other problems or leaks anywhere else.
Oh, and I was pretty convinced it was a plastic bag, but I checked, and alas, no bag

Most likely not your case, but I'll throw this out there. I had a burning smell going on for a few days. I had enough of it, and on closer inspection I found out that one of the wires coming out of the underhood fuse box was loose. The Phillips screw that held it down had backed off, and the false contact made the terminal overheat and started melting the plastic cover. I tightened it down and the problem was solved. Good luck to you .
