both oils 5w40 and actually the same properties.
they are the same oils, only other names..

and now, my ap1 burns less oil than last year,
0,2l / 500km, its very strange,
but i only wanted to show you, that its often an issue of the oil.

question: how can i clean the pcv?
yea just use brake cleaner, or buy a new one, I drenched mine in brake cleaner.

Check oil after EVERY fill up at the gas station. Better safe than sorry.

yes, check it often.

i check it almost everytime i get into my s2000.

but i wouldnt use 10w-x oils, to thick for the cold start in my opinion.

What oil make are you using? There is a lot of info on here of people burning oil when running Mobil 1.

check oil more often. What oil are you running?
I believe 10w-30
who makes the oil?

I really like castrol, penzoil, redline and amsoil.

If you're already on a good brand try switching to a 5w40. If you're burning a lot of 'good' oil it means there is something wrong with your motor, which may or may not be an inexpensive fix. So switching to a thicker oil may help in the short term. If the 40 weight stops the burning, you're golden, if it doesn't look into getting the motor fixed.

I disagree, try a better formulation of oil. Not a heavier weight.

I clearly stated if he's not on a good brand of oil.

I wouldnt change the weight though. I think formulation has more to do with oil burning or not, from my experience, even going to a weight thinner on an oil burner.
