Built block for turbo !
I am looking to build the bottom end for high boost application. (18-22 psi) I have a spare block at home and I am not sure wether I should 1) sell it 2) resleeve it and leave the factory bore 3) resleeve it and bore it out from a 2.0 to a 2.2
or 4) buy an 04 block and resleeve that.Any one who has or is looking to do something similar to gain more torque #s please let me know.(Turbo application)
Thnks.

Stock bore and you can't bore it out to a 2.2L anyways. More like a 2.09L. The 03 and 04 blocks are the same, the crank and rod would be what makes it a 2.2L, not the bore size. Leave the bore at 87mm.

yea I recently found that out.. I spoke to joe alaniz and he has turbo blocks available with parts and all ready to go I might even go with that.He runs 89mm which brings displacement to 2090cc.I mean I mighest well change the displacement if I am re building my spare block.I wanna go all out on the block.
Thnks for the input kane.

heres some info i just got.the block on a 2004 has a different part number than the block on a 2003.and there is also a 900 dollar difference in the price...hmmm
04 block 10002-pzx-a00 $ 3,953.00
03 block 10002-pcx-305 $ 3,028.00
The piston also have different part numbers.
I guess my real question should be what is the biggest displacement I can run with a turbo set up ?
Thnks again

That 2.5 is for all motor application. It differs when its forced induction.I am actually thinking about going with the 04 block and try to get a bigger displacement on that as well.Any more inputs please feel free.
Oh and the part numbers and the prices are different too.The prices wont go up if the parts are the same.Yes you are right the part numbers sometimes change and the part stays the same but the price stays the same as well, in this case the 04 parts are more expensive then the 03 parts.Either way I may be selling that 03 block and I will let you know dont worry...

OK for those who say the MY04+ block and the MY00-03 are the same you're wrong. The MY00-03 block is being phased out. THere have been improvments made with the MY04 block(probably one of the reasons there is little oil consumption). If you have a MY00-03 and blow up you're engine now you will get a MY04 block and MY00-03 crank, pistions, etc...
