Buddy Club Racing Spec Damper V1 or V2
Hey guys, hoping I can draw on some of your knowledge for this one. I just received my Buddy Club Racing Spec coilovers yesterday and had some questions about setting the preload for the dampers. I called over to Buddy Club USA and was informed that they have 2 versions of these dampers. Here are the differences:
Version 1: 200mm front spring length; 14mm nut for the center shaft (thinner shaft)
Version 2: 175mm front spring length; 17mm nut for the center shaft (thicker shaft)
Other than this, everything else is the same.
Even though I just received the coilovers yesterday, I have the version 1. I am leaning towards the version 2 since it has the thicker center shaft (more durability) but want to know if the shorter spring (25mm shorter) in version 2 has any negative performance impacts. In version 2, the front and rear spring are the same length (both 175mm).
Thanks!

The entire rod is thicker but they tell me that the piston is the same size...does that make sense? I'm not that familar with all the internal components in a shock.

Randy, is the actual rod thicker on the V2 or just the threaded portion that sticks through the hat?

No it doesn't Randy
So it looks like the only significant difference is just a 25mm shorter spring up front...I guess that isn't that big of a difference that I'll just hang on to my V1 coilovers.
