That banging sound could be anything as discussed. For me, it was a blown shock (actually, two). The tech support had me changing shocks left to right and changing the top hats. In all I probably spent a few weeks troubleshooting this. We finally were convinced it was the shocks so I sent two of the shocks to buddyclub and they sent me two "new" ones.
I guess I'd recommend looking at the more obvious things first (loose nuts, A-arm hitting the shock, bottoming, etc), but don't rule out the fact that the shocks could be blown even if they were bought brand new.
