Whoa, i surely hope it isnt that extensive... would i have noticed it? They say its only a blown head gasket, and the head is being sent to a machiene shop for inspection, if it has to be milled, how long does that take?

Well its up and running today they said, but have to hold it over the weekend to make sure the system is no longer loosing pressure... is this SOP or are they just joy riding?

A little of both, but mostly joy ride!! If i was the mechanic i would drive it like i stole it..hit rev limiter in the first three gear..clutch dump at 6k...drive in high rpm for long period...That way i would know for sure it has no leak coming from the head gasket or any other problem!!

Kyushin,
All the best, pal. I don't run anything at all resembling a stock cooling system, but because I didn't route the little tube at the front left side of the cam cover properly, I warped my head just idling one day. Since my motor is not in an actual S2000 car, I only know about this one bleed spot right where the coolant tube goes vertical and heads off towards the throttle body.
I had to cut .008" of the head to flatten it, and when I re-installed everything I hooked it all up with sections of clear hose in the cooling system so I could learn what actually happens. I can tell you a fairly large amount of water flows through that little hose and around and around and back into the block behind the thermostat.
I can also tell you that air does not leak into a cooling system. It is pushed in by combustion chamber leaks. I'll be interested to see if Honda cuts the head or replaces it.
All the best,
Jim

BTW, about the time in the shop... when I warped my head they could only find ONE head gasket in North America! In Toronto, ferchrissake!
And if you want to see if it's fixed... just let it idle for about 10 minutes while you keep an eye on the puke tank.

They sent the head to a machiene shop and they said its ok, it was only a blown head gasket which has been replaced. They keep tryin to put this idea on me that this system is very difficult to bleed etc... and thats why my head gasket blew cause air pockets caused overheating etc.... according to Germain Honda of Naples.
