Broken Spark Plug Tip in 01 S2K
Hello,
I have a 2001 S2K w/ 90k miles. I have noticed some bogging recently when driving in traffic at low rpms. I came onto the s2ki forums and read about the faulty or dusty map sensor problem that is common on this car. I whacked the map sensor and also took it off to blow off any debris. Problem NOT solved.
Yesterday, I received a CEL. So yesterday in the afternoon I decided to check the spark plugs to see if they were bad. I noticed that plugs 1 and 2 (closes to the front bumper) were blackish. When taking out plug #2 I noticed that the tip of the spark plug ("ground electrode"?) was broken/missing. I located the missing fragments on the outer edges where the spark plug into the engine (at the very bottom).
What is the best way to get these pieces out? Do I have a major problem here?

i recently had an awful accident when cleaning the fuel injector ports...i tried to use a q-tip to wipe the crud off of the ports but the piece of crap q-tip snapped in half the moment it touched the car. half the q-tip ended up falling into the intake manifold, right on top of an intake port. what was worse was the fact that the valve was half open. anyways, it was eventually removed by hooking up a shop vac to the throttle body. note in order to get air flowing in the correct path, the spark plug was removed from the cyclinder, and the throttle body was opened fully.
anyways, i hope that gives you some ideas. i'm willing to bet a shop vac hooked up to an aquarium hose would work if you feed the hose down the spark plug hole.
