Broken Differential: What Actually Failed??
For those of you who have experienced differential failure, and know what part of the system actually failed, please post here, along with the cause if you happen to know or suspect.
Thanks!

In my first failure it's hard to tell exactly what happened in what order, but here's the story. The torque from a high RPM launch pushed the differential and ring gear "backwards" snapping the part of the housing that the bearing cap bolts go into. The bearing caps snapped in half, and the ring gear knocked a hole in the differential housing. Everything got crunched up inside and required a complete replacement.
My second failure, after adding the Kaaz differential and Comptech bearing caps, was just the pinon gear shearing in half and causing damage to the ring gear. The ring gear and pinion gear are being upgraded to a J's 4.44 and the gear set and differential housing are being cryogenically treated by One Cryo http://www.onecryo.com .
