Default Briefly Flashing CEL - now cyl 2 misfire

On my way to class this morning the car felt fine, I turned onto the on ramp to the highway and the CEL started flashing, I was about to pull to the shoulder but it shut off after only a few seconds, maybe 3-4 flashes. Car felt absolutely the fine the rest of the way, I shut it down a couple of times and it restarted fine, idle feels fine as well. I changed the plugs about 10k miles ago. Any ideas? I've got to drop some old oil off at Autozone later today so I'll have them attempt to pull the codes.

I don't think anyone could pull any code from your car since CEL did not stay on.
You said plugs changed 10K miles then you might want to check your plugs wires they could be loose.

That's what I figured, but I might as well have them try to pull the codes.

Just got it home and it was absolutely fine on the way home, idled right where it should and as smooth as ever, didn't feel like anything was wrong at all and I haven't seem any hint of the CEL since the brief flashing this morning. I'll retorque the spark plugs and check all the connection this evening.

even thought the cel is off, there is a code still stored in the ecu. get that code n see what it is. usually a flashing cel means something is damage. lets hope its nothing too costly. good luck.

That means one or more of the cylinders didn't fire and the ecu picked it up.

Is there a reason one didn't fire correctly and then continued to work fine?

Idk it could be a lot things. But it's really bad for the catalytic converter coz raw unburnt fuel goes there and eventually ends up melting the whole cat. Did you check your plugs?

I won't have a chance to until tonight, leaving to get the code read in a few minutes.
