Default Brief shudder and shake when stopping

Hey guys, just tonight I noticed that as I start to stop, almost to 0 mph the car starts to vibrate and shake maybe 3 or for times. Its not violent, but its not normal because I haven't felt it before. I am going to change the oil soon because it is due. Could that be the case?? I have a 06 GPW. gonna paint the rims black tomorrow!

If you could give me a list of possible culprits that would be awesome!

Check your front rotors, them being warped is a likely cause. You could have pads that are unevenly worn up front as well. Unless your engine rpm's are going haywire I wouldn't worry about it being the oil, and since I know you've read the faq's I'll assume you check your oil at least weekly.

So if you're painting the rims tomorrow when you have the wheels off just give your front brakes a good inspection, any scoring on the rotors are a pretty good sign it's your problem.

Does the engine shudder right when you push the clutch in? My car does the same thing every once in a while, so its normal.

I've been meaning to do a map whack recently to hopefully alleviate it. A map whack may help.

If it's the motor, almost stalling but catching itself this is normal. If you avoid coasting to a stop it will happen less frequently. If you want to see it really drop off re-set your ECU and avoid coasting out of gear.

Typically I will engine brake in whatever gear I'm in until about 10mph and quickly come to a stop. If stop/go traffic under 10mph get into 2nd. You can get down to 5/6mph before you need to get out of gear.

If you're feeling a vibration in your brake pedal when stopping it's your rotors and they may need replacing.

It's normal. For some reason coasting to a stop causes the engine to bog down a bit and then idle normally.

Check your idle air control valve; it may need to be cleaned. There are a number of threads on how to do this.

Engine shuddering when coming to a stop isnt "normal"

I always coast to a stop so that could be the culprit!
