Gotta question for those of you with some experience with this car, I've got on that is breaking up in the higher rpms. As soon as it hits VTEC, it sputters like the plugs are bad. Has anyone else had this problem? VTEC solenoid perhaps? Map Sensor? I've changed the oil, and it helped a little, but it's still pretty bad. Anything would be good, I wasnt sure if this was a problem that was isolated to only me, or if it has happened to others. Thanks!

is it everytime you hit vtec or only when you try to hit vtec without achieving 3 bars on the temp gauge?

I didnt pay attention to the bars...but I do know that if I steadily accellerate, it doesnt really break up. Any ideas?

Is it an s2000 or what kind of car? Try getting it to full operating temp then doing it. I was assuming it was an s2000 (which would most likely mean it has lower mileage) but if it is something else and has higher miles than the vtec solenoid and its components could be a possibility. If it isnt turning on at all it would throw a check engine light for vtec malfunction, but sometimes the vtec solenoid filter gets dirty/clogged etc etc.

It is probably the MAP sensor. Do a search for details, but all you have to do is tap on it.
