you may have already stated this - but I was hoping for a a short and sweet answer (as opposed to digging through all of your many posts for this one nugget...

I accept and appreciate your expertise when it comes to all things oil. So - why are you not waiting until 10K as Honda specifies to switch to a full synoil? I only ask because this requirement is based on the cylinder liner material (not some mythical break-in oil or other sort of thing). Just curious as to your reasoning...and I have what will be my 3rd oil change coming up as soon as my car breaks hibernation - I have been running castrol GTX 10w30 for its high moly content and will be switching to redline 10w30 at 10K (but maybe you can convince me to do this now?)
