Break in the 2.5L inlinepro engine
#53
Came from Honda
CEL code was P107 : running lean.
Now I am confused; my tail pipes are black darker than ever and I am runing lean???.
This have two reasons:
1. I am runing lean
2. The wideband sensor is not working 100% accurate or there is some noise in the instalation
I stopped the break in process with 1000 km done, will change the injectors and wait for Sean

The P0107 isn't for running lean, it's for low MAP sensor volts.
Juan, are you using any type of VAFC, e-manage, anything?

I am just using the Stock injectors, AEM FRP (60 lbs) and The Stock ECU
Regarding the CEL Code it is P=0171 as a permanet code and for provisinal code 45-9
I got 3 pages of diagnosis but they a bit hard to understand

A P0171 is for running lean, a completely different DTC from a P0107.
Essentially, the PCM is having to add more fuel (based on 02 sensor feedback) than it was originally programmed for. 60psi is a decent jump in pressure over stock, you may be able to get away increasing the pressure to 70.

injectors are to small, thus running lean. you should run the 440 that jhon sent you. Even with the stock ecu you will be fine. when you do that you half to use OBDI injector clips which will throw a CEL and you wont get rid of it for the remainder of the time you have stock ecu.
I am pretty unfamiliar with EMS, do you retain the ability to use the OBD when you put the EMS in?

The 440cc injectors run by a stock PCM will run VERY rich, and you will have A CEL for running to rich within minutes. (It has been tried before)
AEM EMS is not OBDII compliant. You will not have any DTC's or troubleshooting a stock S2000 has.

The AEM EMS isn't OBDII compliant but you can monitor everything youself and figure out what's wrong and even get some warnings on the laptop. To even program it to show a CEL if something does get read wrong.
