Default Brakes S-2000 = RSX are they the same ?

Last night we started the measuring process for fitting a big brake kit to the Acura RSX . The RSX does use the same caliper as the S-2000 and it also uses the same brake pads . The front rotor is the same diameter and width but has a different offset . The rear rotor is smaller in diameter and it is also thinner . We are producing the engineering drawings to determine the changes required to install kit .

Just some observations from what we measured . Honda reduced rear rotor diameter to reduce rear braking effort . Because of this reduction they could reduce thickness of rear rotor . The raised steering arm placement allowed them to move caliper and rotor inward . Because the pads are the same on both cars we should see a reduction in pad costs , in the next few years . ( higher production numbers)

The brake lines are totally different , we will also be working on a braided line set fitment .

I know that there was a lot of speculation on what parts were interchangeable , this is the reason for this post .

Just wanted to add: only the Type-S has the same (o.k. almost same) brakes. The base models are smaller.

Huh? They don't even make the RSX any more. Perhaps you might want to elaborate a bit on what your question is.

On Acura's website it's still there, but as the "2006 RSX". Likewise it only shows up on Edmunds.com as a 2006 model, while all of the rest of Acura's lineup shows as 2007. I think it's discontinued.

I think it wasn't "upscale" enough for Acura's brand image.
