Brake work fine, but pedal makes "sqooshing" sound. Is this ok?
Just noticed when I first start to press the brake pedal it makes a "sqoosh" sound. The brakes still seem to grab pretty good, but not sure if the car every did this before or if this is new. I'm just conscerned if this is normal, or if it is indicative of something else. I want to say I don't remeber her ever making that sound, but then maybe she always has and I just never noticed it. Anyone else out there have this issue on their baby, too? Anyone know what causes this, or how to get rid of it?
BTW, MY '00, 23K miles, original pads and fluid (although I do occassionally remove some of the old, discolored fluid from resevoir and top off with fresh dot 3 - just a quick, pseudo brake flush until 30K miles hits).
TIA for any help guys.

Ok, let me clarify. The sound is more of a "pssst" sound. It always does it if the car is on. If I turn it off and then pump it a few times it goes away - pedal gets real firm.....if this helps... not even sure if its relavant.

No ideas, heh. Can someone at least let me know if theirs does this or not. At least that way I know if this is something I need to be concerned about. I've been searching the web and some say its normal, others say it's indicative of a booster failure. God, I can't imagine it being that, since the car has very little mileage on it. I'm just hoping to get some feedback on whether or not I need to check it out. Please help!

Well, I'm starting to think it's normal. The moms was just here and I tried checking her brakes on her 2000 Accord. They seemed pretty much the same as mine. So, I'm guessing everythings ok. I know my wife's Lumina does it, but then her car is kinda holding on. Anyways, if anyone has any imput thanks.

Sounds normal. Even after I bleed the fluid on my car, I can get that sqoosh sound. If the pedal starts to feel rather "spongy" while braking, then you know you're a candidate for brake fluid change.
Nearly every car I've driven makes that noise. Then again, I've only been listening for it recently.
