Brake system indicator light on
#11
Confirmed at lunchtime with my buddy over at the Honda parts counter. The entire master assembly has to be replaced in order to fix a sinking "float" and the best he can do (employee price) is $160+. I'll deal with it for the timebeing and search a couple junkyards if it continues.....which it surely will.

His solution was to disconnect the float MPC. That allows the light to remind you that your parking brake is on and simply requires you to watch the fluid level at regular intervals. One downside is if you get a leak in the system, the light will not come on to warn you anymore.
I've had my float get stuck, but once I unstuck it then it floated again. I didn't realize they could turn into "sinks" rather than "floats".

Just as a heads up: I have NOT serviced the brake system lately. I run ATE Super Blue for fluid, and the fluid level is at the MAX line.

hmm...i didn't check inside the resevoir. do you have to empty the resevoir to find and free up the float or can i do it with the fluid in there? I would have to go get more ATE to re-fill it.

Just a update.
I recently flushed my brake fluid and switched to Motul RBF600. The float hasn't had any issues yet. Hmmmmmmmmmmm, maybe as the ATE ages and absorbs moisture it affects how boyant the fluid is?!?!?!
IDK, but I can tell you my brake light hasn't come back on yet.
For the record it had been just over 50k since the last flush/bleed.
