So do i need an impact driver to replace the brake pads? Or is that if im replacing the rotors. which do you think should be done?
For the pads you just need a few wrenches and something to compress the front piston with (I use a big channel lock, but other people use clamps), as well as a simple "disk brake tool" that allows you to screw the rear piston back in.
Again, no need to replace the rotors if they are not cracked, worn down too thin (which is extremely unlikely!), or "warped" which you would feel as a vibration under braking.

my rotors aren't too thin/warped/etc. the pads are also plenty fleshy (25K on the car). however, there's slight squeal/scratching noise from the right front corner. i assume it's the shims, lack of anti-squeak compound on the backing plate, etc.?
i also had this prob w/ an mid 90s accord we had. the front brakes were ALWAYS noisy, didn't matter what backing plate/shim/new pads i replaced...
