Brake pedal still not "high 'n tight"

Try back bleeding from the caliper up to the master. trapped air travels faster to the surface than bleeding thru the caliper. done this before and works well for trapped air. is your master leaking inside? just some suggestions.

you mean dismount the caliper, hang it so that the e-brake pin bearing is at the lowest position (allowing trapped air bubble to rise) and gravity bleed it at that time? hmmm... rotating it back and forth a few times then might get the bubble out of the piston closer to the reservoir where the bleed screw is (I have a vision of a lava lamp).
You have figured out by yourself what I forgot to post.
Yes, rotate, wiggle, maybe even tap it with a small hammer to get those trapped air bubbles out of the e-brake system.

There is lots of room for them to hide.
Concentrate on the rears.

SpitfireS...yes thank you. I used your referenced link on how to rebuild the calipers as my "bible" to do this. It gave me the courage to tear mine apart (...well, actually I bought a set off this forum and rebuilt those then swapped them out).

Did not do the dealer thing 'cause it was raining today. Pedal seems better this afternoon when went driving. Car will sit for a few days while I am out of town, then I will "dance" the rear calipers a bit and re-bleed. I will update thread then.



SpitfireS, as a side note, I used 4 hemostats when reinserting the pistons into the new piston boot. One on each quadrant with a gentle click. Expanded the boot out pulling on the four, pushed the piston down between the "bottom" two hemostats, then pulled the boot over the top of the piston with the two "top" hemostats. Requires 2 hands and a little coordination, but if it takes longer than 10 seconds you're not doing it right. Quality hemostats will not cause any damage to the boot. I spent a long time and never succeeded with the "paint top cap" method or other suggestions.
