Default Brake Pedal...

well, i notice this when softly applying the brakes. it has no sound, just a feeling in the pedal, almost like it has a very slight grab or creaking to it. got under there today, and its just such a tight fit i could barely find the problem. not sure if its at a hinge point, or something to do with the master cylinder. i wanted to post this to get some feedback from people that may have ran across the same thing. didnt want to go crazy down there with some lithium/silicone grease until i can be able to pinpoint either the MC or a hinge. its an 06 with 6800 miles. everything stock, car as been almost babied since mile 4.

thanks for any help!

Could be pads maybe?

I flushed my brake fluid to ATE SuperBlue early on. Prolly don't need to but I like it.

I feel the same thing (compared to my '03). I'd even venture to say that from my butt dyno, my '03 had much better brakes both in feel and effectiveness..

a little update and what i've been led to think. it only happens when i've been getting the brakes pretty hot, especially when its been warmer out. could this be something i'm feeling through the pedal caused by the pads/caliper assembly..ie; the pads need to be greased? i know boofster mentioned the pads, but wasnt sure i would be able to feel them through the pedal. over the past few weeks, i've been lazy on cleaning my wheels, and have done quite a bit of pressure washing to the wheels. is it possible i have sprayed out most of the grease? any help would be awesome!

I've put new pads, changed fluid, cleaned everything up, etc and have found no difference. Even with Cobalt GT Sports in the front at the track they felt different.

I drove a few AP1's this past weekend and it seems that our brake bias is set differently (Brake Assist), when we mash the pedal it (seems to) sends equal pressure to all four until the rears want to lock at which point it sends more pressure to the front. The AP1's seem to have a set front bias which is why it feels like they brake harder and faster, I suppose a braking distance trial is in order...

Clear as mud

thanks for the input, but the operation of the brakes is fine. havent had any issues with stopping power. its been kinda chilly here lately, so i havent experienced it much. today is gonna be about 80, so i should definitley experience it.
